Refund Status for Federal and/or State

The following is a list of useful links for your convenience.

You can generally get information about your federal refund 72 hours after IRS acknowledges receipt of your e-filed return, or three to four weeks after mailing a paper return.

You'll need to provide the following information from your tax return:

  • Your Social Security Number (or Individual Taxpayer Identification Number)
  • Your Filing Status
  • The exact whole dollar amount of your refund

You can get information about your state refund information 24 hours a day, seven days a week. The refund information is updated daily. Please wait at least 24 hours before inquiring again.

You will need the following:

  • Social security number
  • Whole dollar amount of expected refund

Do you need a copy of your tax return?

To print your tax return, be ready to enter your:

  • Social Security Number 
  • Filing status (Single, Married Filing Joint Return, Married Filing Separate Return, Head of Household, or Qualifying Widow(er))
  • Exact refund amount shown on your return

Copies of your tax return from the current tax season are free. Each copy of previous season tax returns will cost $4.95 payable by credit card (Visa, MasterCard, American Express and Discover). Your tax return will be emailed to the email address that you provided on your tax return.
